Housing
The dormitories have two floors. The first floor is for the men and the second floor is for the ladies.

Each floor has seven rooms and each room sleeps three. Each room consists of a closet split into three, three beds with a night cabinet each and one desk with a chair. Rooms are air conditioned.

There are two shared shower rooms and four toilets on each floor as well as a washing machine.

Participants are responsible for cleaning their own rooms and surroundings.

Finances
Each participant receives a food allowance of 900-1,000 NIS per month.
Meals
The kibbutz communal dining hall serves lunch every day. You can either buy a meal at the dining hall or buy ingredients at the local food shop to cook your own meal in the communal kitchen in the dorms area. Fresh bread, eggs, spreads, fruit, milk, coffee, and tea are provided daily at no extra charge.

Upon arrival at the kibbutz, each participant is tested for their Hebrew level. There are two class levels: 1st grade (Kita Alef) and 2nd grade (Kita Bet).

Kita Alef studies Sunday and Tuesday between 8:00 a.m. and 13:00 p.m. Afternoons are free on those days. Monday and Wednesday are for work and study: work is from 7:00 a.m. to  14:00 p.m. and study is from 16:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m.

Thursday and Friday, you will either work or study alternately.

Your spare time
The afternoons and evenings are your spare time! You can enjoy the local pub, exercise at the gym, or just chill and hang out with friends.
Often there are activities in the Ulpan, and you’re welcome to join the kibbutz’s activities too.

Weekends
The weekend is your time to relax and explore! You can visit family or friends outside the kibbutz. You can take public transport to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, or any other place you wish. See “Getting There and Around” for more information.
Social life on the kibbutz
The local pub is the place to get together in the evenings! It’s near the housing area. Making social connections is all up to you. The friendly people you will meet while working provides a great opportunity to make friends.
The kibbutz also hosts cultural events and often celebrates the Jewish holiday together.

Program Cost & Tuition
Kibbutz Ulpan across all the kibbutzim is the same price and costs $6,150 for the full five months. This cost includes: Ulpan classes, housing and meals (unless stated otherwise in “Meals”), and guided tours and activities operated by Kibbutz Ulpan.
As a Masa Israel-sponsored program, you may be eligible for a Masa grant that may cover up to 50% of the program tuition. Contact us to find out more!

Getting there and around
Public Transportation: There’s a bus (number 28) that runs from the kibbutz to the nearest city of Rehovot (15 min). From Rehovot, you can take public transportation to Tel Aviv or many other places.
